The two year programme is innovatively designed to cater to the global demands and offers a balanced coverage of hardware and software areas. It focuses on the overall discipline of Computer Engineering which covers technological and design aspects of computing. This program provides the basic skills and insights for those who wish to progress and broaden their career opportunities in the areas of computer engineering. The course coverage includes design and development of computer systems.

English Requirements
Students will be expected to provide evidence of a level of English ability at least equivalent to 5.0 of the International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS) achieved within past 24 months or a pass in FTMS English Programme at Intermediate Level 2 stage.
Entry Requirements
- Year 1 (Diploma in Computer Engineering) - GCE "A" Levels/STPM with a pass in Mathematics and Science
- Year 2 (Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering)
Diploma in Computer Engineering or equivalent. Three year polytechnic Diplomas from the relevant disciplines will be considered for exemptions from certain Year 1 and Year 2 modules, subject to approval from the examination board and/or the university.

Awards
Graduates will be awarded a Diploma after completion of academic year 1 and a Higher Diploma after completion of academic year 2.
Advance Standing
FTMS Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering has advance standing to enter final year Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering/Computer Systems Engineering) offered by various highly rated Universities subject to the applicant meeting their entry requirements.

Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the 2 year programme students can either progress into the third Year B.Eng in Computer Systems Engineering/Computer Communications Systems Engineering courses offered by various overseas universities or third year M.Eng course which will lead to the certification of Chartered Engineer. Alternatively students can seek for employment opportunities in the IT and Computer Engineering fields.
